Great clinic, Jim. We were glad to have you here in S. Fla. See you next time.
Hi Jim, I heard you play on the blue plate special today - You are fantastic! I am a novice flatpicker struggling to figure it all out and your playing is quite an inspiration to me. Thanks!
I heard you at Everett's Music Barn in Suwanee, Ga. - very good. I'll tell others abouyt your site.
Love the website Jim!!!!
Long time admirer of your music. Keep up the GREAT work !!!!!!! Thanks Mike
Just downloaded "Open Window" and loving it, and ordered 2 copies of "Chocolates." My hubby & I saw your show at Boulevard Music in Culver City on Dec. 2nd. We're blown away by your talent! "Swamp Reed" on the Jim Hurst Channel/YouTube is fantastic. How about a FB page so I can spread the word? Come back to L.A. soon!
A Facebook friend posted your video of 'Swamp Reed' on her wall. I was totally knocked out. I play guitar 5 string and mando myself and although I could never aspire to your level of performance, I find your playing is inspirational. Where can I buy your CDs here in the UK? Very best wishes from across the pond.
Hi Mr Hurst, I saw you at the Resosummit, just a word to tell you again how I enjoy your playing! I just ordered your album from 2007. Hope to see you in France in the future. Paolo, Paris.
Dear Jim, my wife and i had the honor of attending your very intimate concert held this evening at the "Gathering" in St.Petersburg,Fla. You sir are not only a world class guitar player but in my mind one of the most genuine entertainers i have ever experienced . Your performance will be one of my fondest memories for years to come! Thank you Jim and your wife Judy for spending your time with us. God Bless. Warmest Regards, Ned Hall..
Do you have a fan club ? If so, I would like to join.
Just sitting here listening to A BOX OF CHOCOLATES - wow! Double wow!! What a great collection of tunes. Everything from vocals to the sidemen to your guitar are outstanding. Whatever IT is, you got it . . . and a great guy too. Lookin' forward to seein'/hearin' you next time you're in town. Keep it goin'!
Great instructions at Kamp Kaufman. It's the first time I've had practice sessions for the right hand. My right hand is not as good as I thought it was. Thanks
JIm..i plan on coming to see you this friday(7/22) at Mockingbird in Staunton VA. I've been plugging this concert on my radio show on WTJU Charlottesville, and will be airing an interview with Rob Ickes to further interest in your concert. Look forward to saying hi in person(and maybe getting a station ID from you??) All the best Pete
I've been going to the Iron horse for more than 20 yearsand have seen David there a long time ago.Last night was the best show I've ever seen there!!! Watch out for the young guys. Thank you!!!!!
Jim, I attended last night's concert at KRT and thank you for your performance. You said you were nervous but you seemed so at ease and so comfortable with the music and the audience. I do hope you get back here in the future. I have enjoyed most of the Tuesday night music series performers but for you, a special tribute: "I like your style". I walk to the theatre and do not carry a purse so I was unable to purchase a CD. Can you tell me how purchase the double CD of yours with an incredible list of amazing artists, the name of which I cannot recall at this time and haven't found it on your site. May God continue to bless you in these mighty traveling ways. You represent Him well. Kas
Hi Jim, Many thanks for the time spent at Kaufman Kamp... it was great picking "The Old Spinning Wheel" with you and hearing your live performances. Looking for details on the July 22-23 weekend in Staunton. Hope to see you there, Dave Thomas
Your concert at Steve Kaufman's Acoustic Camp was assume. It was great to hear you and visit with you. Bud (aka Grandpa)
Saw you last Sunday at the Pineridge Bluegrass club and you blew me away. It was a great performance and inspired me to work harder to master my instrument. I'm a novice banjo picker, started playing and taking lessons at age 65, and I'm determined to be a good player before I pass into the great unknown. Thanks for the great music and a genuine person in Jim Hurst.
Hi Jim... I spoke to you briefly at Peter Chitty's house last night, and I just wanted to reiterate how much we enjoyed your fine playing and singing. Hopefully, we will see you in Canada again soon. You asked for feedback on the instrumental you played which I believe had no title. Well, as I was listening to it, and almost immediately upon you playing it, I thought of redemption. I am not a religious person, but that's what came to me in that piece. Redemption. Take care.. Haydee Grant
Hi there; I hope you and Judy are doing well. Based on your schedule, it appears as if you are and I couldn't be happier! Since you asked for comments on the new website, I thought I'd let you know that there is a typo on your home page where you say you welcome suggestions and "comment" rather than "comments." Also, I think it would be helpful if the location of the venue was listed in a separate column, making it easier to identify a particular show. I hope you will be in Knoxville soon because I can't wait to hear you; it's been waaaaaaay too long!!!! All the best, Shelley
Hey Jim! I had the pleasure of hearing you on Bluegrass Junction today on the ride to work. I grew up in the foothills, and am now embracing my bluegrass heritage. I called my dad after your song, to see if we may be kin. Well, guess what? We are cousins. My father is George, son of Emmaline and Elbert. Daddy's first or second cousin is Brother Eldon. Brother Eldon baptized me back in 1978 in that creek that runs through Henderson. It really is a small world. I used to love to hear Brother Eldon sing when j was little. I have to tell you that you have another fan. Nice to talk to you, and I hope you stay in contact with me to a degree. Thank you for keeping my heritage alive. Jon Hurst.
Hi Jim I hope you had a good journey home. Did you get to bed on Friday night? Thank you for making my week at SFSS so enjoyable. I hope John invites you back soon. I hope I'll see you at Wayne's Festival. Les
Hey Jimbo, it was great to see you again at The Roosters Wife in Aberdeen, NC. What a great time we had listening to you and Rob. It is always a pleasure hearing you play. You and Rob make a great team and play off each other very well. I will be looking for you to come back to The Carolinas. Until then " Happy Trails "
Jim, Thank you again for the sheer joy you and Rob Ickes provided in Morganton, NC last Saturday night. What a pleasure to be witness to a couple of musical GIANTS trading licks. Can't wait to see you two again. Doug
Jim, I just wanted to say thanks for coming to Morganton Sat night and wowing us with your playing. My wife, Lisa, and I were lucky enough to come back to Clint and Katie's to hear y'all jam after the concert. We talked some about Winfield and the types of music you liked and you mentioned Mark Knopfler. There's a wonderful ballad he plays called "Going Home" from a movie back in the 80's called Local Hero. I think you could do a wonderful arrangement. Take care and come visit us in Morganton again soon. Duke & Lisa Schell

YES it is my name too! I live in Pennsylvania, and was just searching for "Missy Hurst" (my daughter). What came up was a link to "Jim Hurst & Missy Raines" on CMT. I had to check-out your site AND your music. Although we are not related, your music seemed to be a part of me! Keep on pickin' and grinnin' and I will listen.
Hey Jim, I was just checking your site and what not as I am doing some blog-work for a few bluegrass blog pages as "JuiceHarpJester" due to the fact that I am a pretty fair jews harpist. I am interested to know if I can get feedback from you to use in some of the blog pages, either anonymously or not? The blog pages are posted in my info section of my facebook page and were created by Sherri Checkal from Glass City Opry. Thanks Jim and have a great one. Brian Lowe.
Hi Jim. Sorry about your other website. My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting you and your wife at your home a couple of weeks ago. It was a nice visit. You made us feel welcome. I'm bookmarking this site so I can come back to it at various times. Thanks Jim James
Wow! Are we the first ones to comment? Seriously ... Thanks Jim, for being not only a good mentor, but a great friend as well. We promise to keep smiling ... it feels so good. :-D
